Happy New Year everyone!!

We hope that 2014 brings you all the joy, journeys and adventure that you may wish for!

Life could not be more different at the end of this year compared to last year… On December 31st, 2012 we were bundled up in Edinburgh, surrounded by old friends, and bringing in the New Year Hogmanay style. We were about to step into the final push toward finishing our degrees at Birmingham University and we only had the faintest hint of an idea of what the future after graduation held.

This year, we wasted the last of this terms energy reserves staying up until sunrise on Haeundae beach, which is the traditional way to ring in a new year in Korea. We are fourth months into our jobs as English teachers and enjoying it so much more than we had imagined we would. We are living in South Korea, a country whose beauty and people we have grown to love and we are taking every opportunity to do what we love- travel.

Our current contracts will finish halfway through 2014, and we are unsure of how the journey will continue, here, at home, or elsewhere in the world. But there is one thing we can be sure of, that we know exactly how we want to be living our lives. We want to be earning a living doing something we don’t mind getting up in the morning for (ahem 7am alarm!), we want to be able to save a good portion of that money, and most of all we want to continue taking adventures!

What do you hope for in 2014?
